The Magical Cusco 7 Days tour requires several official government permits and entry tickets. The most critical is the Machu Picchu entrance ticket, which is subject to daily limits and must be secured weeks or months in advance. The other necessary tickets, such as the Cusco Tourist Ticket (BTG), are managed by our team upon your arrival.

Machu Picchu Booking Regulations
The Peruvian government strictly regulates the number of daily visitors to the Machu Picchu sanctuary to preserve its structural integrity. Because this 7-day tour includes a full visit to the citadel on Day 5, we cannot confirm your itinerary until we secure your entry ticket.
Advance Booking Requirement: We strongly advise booking this tour at least 6 to 8 weeks in advance. During the high season (May through September), tickets for the primary circuits (Circuit 2 – Classic Route) sell out very quickly.

The Cusco Tourist Ticket (Boleto Turístico General – BTG)
Unlike Machu Picchu, you do not need to book the Cusco Tourist Ticket months in advance. This ticket is required to enter the archaeological sites visited on Days 1, 2, 4, and 7 (such as Sacsayhuaman, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and Tipon).
Our logistics team handles the purchase of this ticket for you as part of your package. It will be physically handed to you by your guide on the first day of your tour.
| Ticket / Permit | Booking Deadline | Required Information |

Passport Requirements
Your Machu Picchu ticket and train tickets are nominal, non-transferable, and strictly tied to the passport number provided at the time of booking. When you arrive at the Machu Picchu entrance gate or the train station, government officials will cross-reference your ticket with your physical passport.
🧭 EXPEDITION DIRECTOR PERSPECTIVE:
“Never book a flight to Cusco without confirming your Machu Picchu tickets first. If you arrive in high season hoping to buy tickets at the door, you will likely find they are completely sold out for the next 4 weeks.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if my passport expires before the trip?
If you book the tour with a passport that will expire, you must bring BOTH the expired passport (used for the booking) and your new valid passport to Peru. The park rangers need to see the physical document matching the ticket number.
Can I add the Huayna Picchu climb?
Yes, but Huayna Picchu tickets are the hardest to get in all of Peru (limited to 400 people per day). You must request this upgrade at the exact moment of booking, usually 3 to 4 months in advance.
Are the tickets refundable?
No. According to the Ministry of Culture, once a Machu Picchu ticket is purchased, it is non-refundable and the dates cannot be changed under any circumstances.
